Your Next Doctor Visit
Doctor visits can make you feel excited, nervous, anxious, and can certainly be overwhelming with all the information.
I want to share a few tips on how you could best prepare for your appointment and get the most out of your visit.
#1: Write down your symptoms and how you feel before the appointment. Think about when you get your dizzy attacks...how long does it last? do you get a headache? does your hearing change? These are examples of a few questions to consider but take the time to really think back and what bodily changes occur.
#2: Bring a trusted partner or friend with you. Someone who has perhaps witnessed your attacks or has supported you along the way. They can help recall attacks or symptoms and more importantly, they can serve as a second set of ears. Remembering every thing from a visit can be overwhelming so having someone with you may help jog your memory once you are at home
#3. Write down your questions ahead of time. Many times you are discussing a lot with your doctor and you may forget to ask the important questions that you once thought of. Questions arise during the conversation and even after leaving the appointment so be sure to write them down so you can get your answers.
The more prepared you are for your visit, the less stressful they will feel and the more productive they will be. If you are not leaving the appointment feeling heard or with a plan in hand, it may be time to find a new provider.
