If you are wondering how you are *still* suffering from migraines even when on all the meds…
then you have come to the right spot!
And if I were to guess your story…
You have tried endlessly to get rid of your migraines, you know it’s a frustrating cycle:
One doctor to the next
2 prescriptions here
And off you go with unanswered questions and no signs of hope.
You try the meds, you feel the side effects, you don’t really want to be on them
but it seems you have no other choice.
You turn to Dr. Google
You spend countless hours trying to find other ways to get any kind of relief:
Neck pillows, ice packs, an elimination diet.
Nothing seems to work consistently.
You’re busy keeping up with your life, house, kids, or work and suddenly your health takes a back seat.
This becomes your new norm and you just learn to live with it, right?
Enter THE VICIOUS CYCLE:
Having lived with migraines since I was a kid,
it became ironic that as a doctor specializing in the head and neck space (ENT) I wasn’t able to break my own migraine cycle.
Med school and a 5 year surgical residency taught me what drugs to prescribe and how to fix things in the OR.
But it wasn’t until I began my 10 year research journey did I truly understand the migraine process and how
so much of it can be controlled by a person…without the sedating meds.
I practiced what I published in the papers and saw how it profoundly impacted my life.
No afternoon crashes, no cancelling clinic
because of the oh-so-friendly bright lights and loud noises,
no constant head pain and pressure.
It was a new, fresh way of living in the clear that as a doctor
I didn’t think was *really* possible without meds.
Now it has become my mission to get other migraine sufferers to see that
there is hope beyond the pills
and that western medicine is only a small part of the solution.
And when I am not practicing medicine…
You'll find me with my family enjoying the outdoors:
surfing, swimming, mountain biking, camping
or just soaking up the sunshine and fresh air.
The grounding effects of nature are so soothing and revitalizing.
Get out there and embrace it! (with a hat and sunglasses, of course)
Your migraine threshold will thank you later :)
